I think it's true that Quinn's stand could make her look good to certain members of the political class, but probably not the critical mass that would make a real difference in the 2009 Mayoral. Besides, by the time the Mayoral race gets underway this whole episode would have been forgotten.
Also, Steve Cohen's assessment of Quinn's reputation in the Black community is un-informed. Unless he considers having no reputation a good one, he's off base. The majority of Black New Yorkers have no idea who Quinn is.
Next time find someone who actually knows something about the Black community.
