I have never seen such an inept bunch of fools as this Congress. Elected with the promise of what they were going to do to get this country back on the right track, they have proved conclusively that they would have a hard time chewing gum and walking at the same time.

First, there was that foolishness by Speaker Pelosi about the size of her airplane, followed by her's and Harry Reids's embarassing trip to the Middle East, then Harry Reid proclaiming that the war was lost which in turn was followed by Sen Domenici and Lugar's dire prophecies even when the New York Times had felt compelled to report some improvement in Iraq.

Pres George W Bush did exactly the right thing. He listened to his generals, one of whom, Gen David Petraus, has been called the best general we have produced in a generation.

These politicians are ignoring the national security of the country in order to save their "cushy" lives in Washington because if Gen Petraus comes home in September with a good report these ladies and gentlemen are going to be looking for new jobs.

And they know it.
