Columbia Expansion Plan Debate Will Intensify

Submitted by Robin from Harlem, Jul 10, 2007 09:59

Nellie Bailey has spent a lifetime pimping poor people while she enjoys the upwardly mobile luxury of living in large Columbia-owned housing.

It's disingenuous of her to characterize the Columbia plan as a "land grab." This area has been depressed and underutlized since the late 60's when the meatpackers started to decline. By the mid-80's it was little more than a prostitute's playground.

Several plans came and went to redevelop the area. Nellie and her crew have only specialized in oppposing each one.

I'm a lifelong Harlem resident and they don't speak for me! I say, "build it!"
