Swinging With The Jazz Museum

Dear Kate,

I read your article with great enthusiasm. To me there is no greater music than jazz. I received my training growing up to the sounds of Jimmy Smith, Coleman Hawkins, Sonny Stitt, and becoming a Blue Note baby all at the tender age of ten ( I just turned 56 today ).

I do hope that they find a suitable home for their museum, and that they will consider having space to host paid parties and special events. I'd had the pleasure to work at the Western Reserve Historical Society in Cleveland, Ohio, that housed the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum. It is a great place to have parties and a lot of fun, and I raised a lot of money for the museum doing so, all part time.

Having space to host parties and special events can be a great revenue builder and it's an excellent way to introduce new people to the museum by word of mouth. You can't beat this type of advertising with a stick. I plan on contacting the director to discuss it.

Jazz is apart of the great universal lanuage and I pray that this museum will come to past, because jazz has such a rich history in our nation, and its story needs to be shared with the world. We have the Rock and Roll Hall Museum here, and it has been a plus for the city, and I'm sure the Harlem Jazz Museum will be a plus for New York as well.

thank you.
