It could be a rerun of the 1938 Munich appeasement last effort. The difference is that Israeli Jews are not like Tcheques or Slovaks who were spared a thousand years of persecutions, pogroms, crusades, inquisition, and holocaust. With all the generosity of the New World and part of the Old, it boils down to a simple phrase : to be or not to be. The irony is that the Arab states will reject freedom and tolerance as the characterisric accomplishment of both Israel and the US.
