Gas Gouging

Submitted by Ray F. Mihulka III, Jul 11, 2007 11:18

There is no way that the world has changed so dramatically to cause oil to go from 11 dollars a barrel at one point in Clinton's Presidency to 73 dollars a barrel under King George. One of the main culprits are energy speculators. They are non stop pushing this country toward 100 dollar a barrel oil. They won't sleep untill they accomplish this. The other is the governments lack of any meaningful attempt to get us off oil and move us to true energy independence. We could have PEHV (plug in hybrid electric) vehicles on the road right now if Congress had thier heads out of thier backsides. This is the quickest and most economical way to become energy independent. We only generate 2 percent of our electricity in this country from oil. We could use our plug in cars to commute to work. They can go 30 miles on a charge and be recharged in a few hours. These vehicles have a gas engine also but that would rarely need to be used. This technology is available now. we need incentives to get it into mass production.
