Is the climate of the earth warming? Very possibly -- it has been slowly warming for thousands of years, since the end of the last ice age. Is this caused by human activity? No, it's caused by vast forces, largely on the sun. Or so large numbers of climatologists and other scientists in appropriate fields of expertise have been saying again and again. If Al Gore and his followers were really sure of their facts, they would not demand that those who disagree must be silenced, even punished. (Robert Kennedy Jr. is already calling them traitors who should be brought up on charges of treason.)
Will the issue bring Gore to the nomination again, this time embraced by acclamation? No, it's not working. This is a pretty good outline of his campaign strategy, but it won't work. He should retire with whatever shreds of dignity he can still lay claim to. Meanwhile, however, he himself appears to be a tgrue believer, and has given impetus to a fanatical new religion of earth-worship with utopian demands of the kind that lead to ideological tyrannies, thus doing damage to American freedom. And he has never explained his long association with the exceedingly dubious Dr. Armand Hammer.
