City's Bike Lanes Are Going Green - Literally

Submitted by Dirk VonVandenburglar, Jul 13, 2007 10:01

The greening of NYC's bike lanes is an outstanding idea!

Now, how does one explain to the DHL driver in the photo that he really shouldn't be double parking in this newly painted travel lane? In fact, if New York charged more for on-street parking so that spaces could be available for deliveries, just think how much more efficient our street system could be if travel lanes (including bike lanes) could actually be available for, ah, travel.

Thanks to NYC DOT for greening the bike lanes. Now, please do this in my neighborhood, the UWS, ASAP.
