I also grew up with the Latin Mass, and boy do we disagree. As you can see from my e-mail address I served 20 and more years in the Navy. With the Latin Mass I could be anywhere in the world and understand the Mass completely. After Vatican II I was confused anywhere. You say the prient had his back turned to you. I'd put it that the priest and the congragents were all focused on the same thing, the alter and the tabranacle. surely you don't think that you've turned your back on the people in the rows behind you. We all took part in the same service. With the current service, with the priest facing the congragation and the tabranacle long gone, I can't help but feel that the prienst now sees himself as the star of the show
