I marvel at my friends here in the Bay Area talk about Canada's health care system as a desirable model to emulate. The Liberals have so messed up the system over the last 40 years that managing ones self/family through it has become an art form - particularly in the GTA. Sadly I hope that they take the logical steps to correct it. In fact the results of the many policies being bandied about this election year can be reviewed by looking at what happened elsewhere. I agree with Mark S that unfortunately most Americans want all the great social benefits, but if forced into dealing with life as Canadians or Brits know it - would surely revolt.
