Latin Mass No Threat To Judaism

Submitted by Peter, Jul 13, 2007 21:28

As the writer wrote there is nowhere in the Latin Mass a mention of the conversion of the Jews. There has over last 50 years of so been an ahistorical, sometimes deliberate attempt to place the blame for the suffering of Jewish people on Christians and the Catholic Church in particular. Rabbi Daniel Lapin has pointed out there have been many many occasion over the centuries when Popes has issued statements protecting Jews from the irrational fears of small minded bigotted locals. But the most egerious attempt to link the suffering of the Jewish people with Catholicism is over the Holocaust. Nazism and Communism were products of the Enlightenment, they were the answers to its central premise, "to make Man the measure of everything", and the corollary question "which man?" Both secular doctrines can be traced back to the philosopher Hegel's concepts of the State, Nazism was supported by the one of the most influential philosopher of the 20th century Martin Heidegger (Being and Time), and Communism by the one of the most famous Jean Paul Satre (Being and Nothingness), the extreme nationalism of Nazism found root in the aftermath of Napoleon's destruction of the Holy Roman Empire in 1801 and the resultant nationalism of newly created nations, communism fromthe Industrial Revolution and the conditions of workers. I believe the reason that some writers and groups like ADL keep linking Catholicism to the horrific events of World War 2, is to COVER UP the failures of secular communism, and the tens of millions who died in the Soviet Union, Cambodia and other places, as well as the knowledge many prominent Jews had a role in communism, not least Marx and Trotsky, but also as major government figures in places like Poland after World War 2. Over a million catholic Poles died at the hands of the Nazis, to tarnish their religion by inputing something to cover another evil is wrong. The truth is many Jews were saved by catholics like Oscar Shindler, given phony baptism certificates hidden in convents and churches to help them escape the Nazis, it is quite likely that many were relieved to hear the jackboots leave to be replaced by the sound of the Latin Mass being said.
