While the writers view that 10 years of cease fire is required is an intrigiung notion - he admits that down the road there would be a resumption of hostilities, but he neglects that he just placed Israel back in what Abba Eban termed 'Auschwitz Borders', and given the Arabs 10 years to build up weapons. I don't believe for a second European soldiers would actively enforce a demilitarized zone (check out their wonderful progress in Lebanon), allowing for this buildup to take place. The writer also advocates removing Jewish families from their homes, a terrible action, solely to capitulate to the PA, whom it seems can't manage a village or two of jews - and must have their prospective country Judenrein. Perhaps the writer should watch the last scene from Fiddler on the Roof until the impact hits him that Jews have been forced from their homes TOO often in the course of history, and the practice of mass evicting jews needs to stop now. And giving Hamas an idea of how to gain international support? They have too much support via terrorist sponsoring countries already, and they have legitimacy with far left leaning individuals and anti-semites as it is, to a level I'd call international support now.
This plan is garbage, and could very well lead the Israelis into a holocaust. I didn't think Mr. Halkin was in the same apocolyptic boat as Ahmadinejad.
