I am the mother of a grown child and I still love to watch fantasy and sometimes (childish) movies. I have loved every Harry Potter movie Except Order of the Phoenix! It was a huge disappointment to me! I left the theatre with a headache and was really unhappy to have wasted my time there. The actors all did a wonderful job at their roles but the movie had none of the former wonder, magic and fantasy of the previous movies! I am tired of always seeing movies filled with sadness, anger and too much reality! We go to movies like Harry Potter to escape reality for a little while and have some magic and fun; Not to be reminded of reality! There are loads of movies out there filled with the Real World & when I go to a movie I want to have fun, not leave depressed! I loved Harry Potter because it was a place to dream, be a child again & do things you can't normally do. But that is gone now! I was reading the Half Blood Prince and my son told me that it was getting worse and he had been told by a friend that also read the book of one of my favorite characters getting killed in the book. I couldn't stand it and skipped to the end! It was true! I had already lost Sirius Black; now one of my other favorites was to die! I put the book down and will never read another one! I do not plan to see any of the future movies either. JK Rowling is a talented writer and I just wish she would have kept up the magic and joy instead of taking it away from us! Childish and Unrealistic, you say! Well, I would rather be that and have fun with my movies and books than to live in depression, rage, hopelessness and the like when I read a book or go to the movies! I don't know if I can ever look at the Harry Potter movies the same way again.
