You honestly want to try to make other people believe that you've never been on the receiving end of French rudeness, curtness or impatience in all the years you've been going there as a tourist? Now, that is a laugh. I've been living here and I am perfectly bilingual and I encounter it almost every time I set foot outside my apartment!
I will say that things have improved in the last few years. Improved does not mean 'disappeared'.
I don't know what places you go to and what hotels you are staying in, what taxis you're taking and what restaurants you're eating in, but, man, have you been LUCKY!
