Dear Editor: Perhaps Bin Laden has taken a page from how America operates (as in know your enemy) and has gone into the franchise business. Awarding exclusive territories to crazies that operate under his banner in the best tradition of Hollywood. Seriously, Bin Laden is in the money raising business, and as part of that, his organization is going to try and gain credit for any attack, whether in Iraq, or Britain, or where ever. As part of the support to small cells (that he in reality has nothing to do with on planning operations) he operates training camps and gives a few basic supplies, but for him to keep going, he needs a constant supply of money. So, any small group that denounces the west (the amateur group that attempted to blow up cars in downtown London and Scotland is a good case in point) and declares loyalty to Bin Laden is guaranteed to strike fear in the population. Even Dick Cheney is a big fan of Bin Laden's from the perspective that he can keep up the fear mongering with his constant (a broken record) harping that Bin Laden is alive and well, and living in a cave either in Iraq, Yemmon, Pakistan, or a hundred places in between. If Bin Laden did not exist, Cheney would have to invent him. Bin Laden is taking a page right out of Sun Tsz; kill one of your enemy to terrorize thousands. Sounds to me like Bin Laden is the Paris Hilton of terrorists. If we really wanted to kill him, then all we have to do is follow through on Bush's threat and send ten thousand special force troops into Pakistan (remember his dead or alive stuff?) and do Bin Laden in once and for all. bobby taylor Clifton Forge, Virginia
