Good article.

Please note that the Knick only have 16 men signed. Nichols is a second round pick WITHOUT a contract. If he plays in Europe the Knics still retan his NBA rights. And he is going to be a hell of a player.

I agree that the Knicks should trade or dump Jerome James. He is worthless and lazy. The other JJ, Jarid Jeferies may have limited value. But his retention on the Knicks can take time away from two major future stars in David Lee and Renaldo Balkman. Nate Robinson by virtue of his summer-league play and MVP, may have greatly boosted his trade value. He should be a good prospect for a meaningful 2 for 1 trade or a component in a larger package. Although he is high energy and has star potential at only 5'7" (5'9" is PR BS) , he is somewhat redundant on the Knicks and will get little playing time at guard behind Marbury, Richardson, Crawford and Colins -- not to mention Jones and Dickow -- if the last two are also retained.

Rookies Randolph Morris, Nichols and Chandler are nice pickups and would fit well if the team was not as deep this year. But, I suspect they will see little meaningful playing time unlees there are injuries.
