U.N. Chief Warns Against ‘Abrupt' Iraq Withdrawal

Submitted by Dave Levy, Jul 17, 2007 12:44

Carl Levin, Senator, was interviewed on PBS.

When asked about the consequences of a withdrawal of our troops to both Iraq and the Iraqi people who have been loyal to US, he answered that things are already going in that direction.

For a Jew, this was shocking to me., and smacks of the type of thinking by most of the world prior to and during WW2., vis a vie the Jews.

In fact, if we withdraw before victory, tens of thousands of Iraqis will be in danger from Al Qaeda, the insurgents, and death squads.

Levin said thousands, if not tens of thousands of Iraqis have been killed to date. Well, Im not so sure that was because of US, but instead built up tensions since Saddam Hussein's regime.

The bottom line here is: we left Vietnam to the mercy of the Viet Cong and No. Vietnamese.

Now, according to Levin, they Iraqis can eat cake.

This is a terrible attitude by him..and will surely end any trust in the US in the future.
