The question is why when former New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi decided to sue WorldCom, he did not take of was nor was not required to take advantage of free legal services readily available from the office of then New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer? There was no need to incur $340 million in legal fees for outside counsel when New York State taxpayers were already paying for an expensive attorney general's office that boasted of considerable experience in litigating alleged stock market fraud. Comments on this discrepancy from the current and most recent New York State Comptrollers and Attorney Generals, including of course Governor Spitzer, would be welcome,
