Sun, Sea & SUVs: The Amagansett Beach Tug-of-War

Submitted by spaulding, Jul 19, 2007 07:41

The beach driving referred to in the article has been going on for decades, local families drive to the area on the beach to get away from tourist crowds and ironically second homeowners who crowd the beaches.
Prior to building his McMansion, the The multi miliionaire should have looked at the property before his butler bought it for him. Mr Healie' now joins the crowd of complainers who move next to an airport, and complain that the planes are too noisy. It's no a wonder why there is a us vs. them attitude in the Hamptons. Some weathly folks move there and want to change what the locals have - which causes instant animosity.
