The Spurs didn't hurt themselves, Scola would have never come over from Europe with the Spurs and Jackie Butler did not do anything for the Spurs and did not fit into their schemes. The only thing that happened was that Houstan was helped and could contend for a title. Also, by clearing up space, the Spurs are now able to go after Imke Uduka or something like that from Portland, the heir to Bruce Bowen. Also now with Tiago Splitter, who is better than Butler, and will be better than Scola, especially under Duncan, the greatest power forward in the history of the game, Scola and Butler will have no use what so ever with him coming in a year.
