China Quietly Muscles In on the Organic Food Market
in response to reader comment: The US needs to put labels on our food that indicate whether any ingredients are from outside the US

I agree with Kelly 100% !!!

God only knows what the people have really been eating in light of all this... and not knowing...

I was extremely disapointed (or should I say disgusted) to find out that the "organic" soy milk I was buying was made with Chinese soy beans (after all this stuff in the news about China!) What's wrong with business these days?!!?) - yet the label mentions nothing about this! It does not even say "may contain chinese soy, or even imported soy"

It would be very nice to know where on earth my food is coming from when so many places on earth are not fit for food!!! It would NOT take much money or brains to label WHERE the ingredient is from. They simply don't want to .... this leads me to ask... why is that?

So companies don't want to do this labelling? You know what I say?

"FINE! Don't tell me where it's from. But at the same time, keep it all to yourself, I will BOYCOTT all of your products, and buy only from the local organic farms who I can visit . "

That's the only way to know what you're eating unless you are a farmer these days!!! And there are so many nice local organic farms it's a shame not to give them the business. Or join a co-op that buys from them. Give these farms your support now, and they will be there for you in the future when the rest of this crazy world ends up poisoned with who knows what. Take the car and the kids and head out to the farms on the weekends, great way to spend some quality time! And, wouldn't you like to personally know the people who grow your vegetables and raise your beef & chicken? That's what I say.

You have to take charge of your own health and vote with your money.

(after a pet dies or a person gets cancer, it's TOO LATE to say "ooops, we're sorry",)
