Wow! I'm not a Rowling/Potter fan and frankly find the films somewhat redundant and goofy like spotting teenage 'Goths' in the street, something else I don't quite 'get.' But it has been some time since the English speaking reading public has been hooked on an author like this. I am genuinely surprised to see kids reading anything that is 759 pages long. Dickens had this kind of effect on his public. I once met an ancient English woman who had been a child when Dickens died and she told me that London had wept because there would be no more installments in the papers of his ongoing tales. We forget that is how Dickens published. Weekly installments and then later in a hard bound edition. If Rowling's publishers could have figured out the installment trick (for the 21st Century) maybe they could have made even more mooney. Either way Ms. Rowling is rolling in Gryffin d'ors.
