U.S. Says It Hits Qaeda in Pakistan

Submitted by anotherview, Jul 23, 2007 14:56

The Islamic terrorists will not go away anytime soon, whether in Iraq or elsewhere. Further, as energetic fanatics, the Islamic terrorists mean to spread Islam by the sword, as of old, killing infidels, innocent men, women, and children, without mercy, in the name of Islam. They will not stop perhaps for a hundred years. Consider that no doubt in time the Islamic terrorists will gain possession of a nuclear device, and then use it on a Western target. As a given, this disastrous outcome justifies right now that the West quadruple its program to find and kill, or otherwise bring to justice, the Islamic terrorists, before they harm more innocents. For example, the West must promptly enter the semi-autonomous tribal area of Northwest Pakistan now harboring al-Qaeda, to find and smash its regrouping operation there, and kill its leadership, in a surgical military strike. A new kind of war faces us. The West does not have to put an occupying army on the ground in any country in order to discourage the Islamic terrorists. Advances in technology enable the West to arm itself efficiently for quick, low-cost military activity narrowly employing forces anywhere on Earth for maximum effect. The West now selectively carries out this kind of military activity. It must increase this activity four-fold at once, doing so as a rational preventive of the unthinkable. After a while, the moderate Islamic leadership will step forward as a legitimate alternative to Islamic extremist political violence in the eyes of the Muslim faithful. A dialog will ensue, resting in part on the true message of Islam: peace and tolerance. For its part, the West will have to grant that it cannot put its occupying armies in Islamic nations. Islam and the West can coexist without killing one another.
