This is how he left deals with any news that doesn't jive with their worldview; malign the messenger, distort his views (Mr. Steyn was talking about 'relative' coverage, i.e., proportionate to the importance of the event), refuse to criticise the offending party because of something the U.S. may or may not have done in or to that country 50 years ago, and generally hope to G-d that if we're sufficiently obsequious and spineless, maybe the bad guys will go bother somebody else.
