You may have to do some digging to find them, since most of the media hates to quote inconvenient statements by the likes of Ziggy B, Carter's national security advisor, but he is on record as saying the reason he urged Carter to start funding the budding jihadists in Afghanistan in 1979 was to force the Soviets into invading that counrty. According to Brzensinski, he thought the price of a "few stirred up Moslems" was well worth dragging the Soviets into their "Vietnam". Of course the price was millions of casualties, millions displaced, and the training ground for terrorist groups which became the Taliban, al Qaeda, and others.

For Ziggy to find anything "morally unjustifiable" is laughable, given his record of opening the Pandora's Box of Islamic jihad and introducing it to the world on a grand scale.

The last i checked, the boys are still pretty "stirred up."
