I think that some of your facts here are misguided. Let's look at the Americas. At the time that Byzantium dominated the Western World, and Constantinople was becoming Christian, the Americas mostly held Native American religions. Today, much of the Americas is Christian, similar to much of Istanbul now being non-Christian. In fact, less than 1% of the population of the Americas follows Native American religions. Well darn, the governments of the America's must be racist, facists who don't respect the local community and are targetting anyone who is different from them. I hate that when that happens! Beyond this, Turkey is at a phenomenal crossroads, and this kind of fear-mongering is unnecessary. What we need to do as a Western entities is challenge Turkey to take up the cross that Ataturk bore for the birth of a young, revolutionary nation and return to its roots of secularism. Through this, the total freedom of religion can be observed. Note, our Congress holds a prayer everyday before their sessions begin. Our currency has, "In God We Trust" written on it. This country is NOT secular, but we condemn a nation who is wavering between total secularism and a religious state. Let's not condemn, let's help. Finally, let me give you a quick example of how democracy works. The people have an opinion, and they vote based on that opinion. Democracy is NOT the policy of the United States worked out across governments all over the world. You have a right to be upset that an ally country does not necessarily agree with the policy of the United States, but you should not condemn them for democratically coming to that decision. This is the very set of values that we are fighting for all over the world. Let's celebrate when democracy succeeds.
