Mr. Steyn's comments are spot on. Of course, I believe he even was treading lightly. While a nuke threat from Iran would be extremely dangerous, the most likely purpose for the nuclear capability is not an actual attack on Europe or the US but is more likely to nuetralize the nuclear capabilities of the west so that Iran could dominate the region at will and spread it's Islamic radical revolution as has been their goal since 1979, thank you very much Jimmy Carter. The nuclear threat takes conventional forces off the table in resolving any issue with Iran should they gain nuclear capability and the extortion, kidnapping and territorial expansion of Iran could no longer be contained without a nuclear confrontation. That would be the world of a nuclear Iran. The mobilization of Iranian troops into a defenseless Iraq, because we shagged ass, into Lebanon and a war to eliminate Israel with nothing by verbal protests from Europe and the USA because to come to the aid of anyone in the middle east in opposition to Iran would mean a nuclear showdown with religious radical zealots who think dying for Allah is a great idea is what the future holds in a world with a nuclear armed Iran. World oil prices will be dictated by the Ayatollahs because if the Saudi's, Kuwait or the UAE disagree, Iran could take any action they chose without fear consequence. The world would be extorted for energy and the Russians will play right along with Iran because it does nothing but drive Europe to Russian for a semi-stable supply of oil at huge profits to Russia and its goal of re-creating it's "former greatness."

Like it or not people, it is a "haves" versus "have nots" world and the dictators for the "have nots" play for keeps, play dirty and play to win at all costs. It the Europeans and the Americans do not educate their publics to the very very real and dangerous threat we are facing, we will end up hostages in our own countries as the tyrants of the world run the show. Man often assumes himself above nature but it is still survival of the fittest in the geo-strategic world and simply choosing to think yourself above it does not eliminate the risk posed by those who seek your demise.

The biggets threat to your grandchildren IS NOT GLOBAL WARMING unless you consider nuclear fallout part of man-made global warming. We can find a way to live with a little heat if we solve the problem of living without the threat of radical Islamic terrorism first,
