Egypt, Jordan Officials Visit Israel

The Arab League proposals mirror the Abbas demand for the right of return for the original refugees and their descendants numbering ,in total, well over four million people. To accede to this demand would be suicide. The members of the Arab League know it and Abbas knows it.As long as this demand is on the table there can be no peace treaty. It is dismaying that the Telegraph should be among those who have embraced the oft repeated lie and ,current ,conventional wisdom that the Jewish settlements are illegal .Resolution 242 implicitly acknowledges israel 's right to secure its borders by expanding out from the nine mile waist that Abba Eban,in a speech to the U.N. ,described as israel's auschwitz borders. The West Bank (Judea and Sumaria)does not belong to the Palestinians. It isregarded,in international law,as disputed territory.
