Los Angeles Now the Likely U.S. Olympic Bid for 2016

1. Nearly all of your facts, Mr. Weiner, are old and dated.

2. So, Chicago, the 2nd biggest city in the richest country in the world, has run dry of ideas in how to put together a temporary stadium for 85,000 people, with a $300 million budget? On what planet do you live on, Mr. Weiner?

3. Why should the US present Los Angeles as its candidate city to the IOC for a 3rd time? You've failed to look at the international picture, Mr. Weiner. Japan is putting forth Tokyo, and that bid is up and running. It's erstwhile World War II-ally, Italy, is putting forth ROme as its 2016 candidate. Tokyo last hosted in 1964; Rome 4 years earlier in 1960. Los Angeles last hosted in 1984. If you were an unbiased IOC member, Mr. Weiner, why would you award the Games to Los Angeles again when the 2 other cities last hosted, by Games-time of 2016, 52 and 56 years respectively, previous? (You do the arithmetic, Mr. Weiner. I am sure the IOC members can easily do it too.) Therefore, why would that make Los Angeles the viable candidate for the IOC, as you perceive it, Mr. W?
