Once Rated ‘Junk,' Lenox Hill Begins Recovery

Submitted by Blair Boyer, Jul 30, 2007 18:04

My mother died at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2006. Each time she was ready to leave the hospital she would catch another infection. The staff would simply say they were trying to get her released but this is what happens when you stay in the hospital too long. There was little if any communication with her assigned attending doctor which in the end in my opinion contributed greatly to her death. The nurse staff would say don't worry he never tells us anything either.he neglected to communicate with the case worker that she was ready to be discharged and was forced to spend what turned out to be a fatal weekend in the hospital.

I learned that Sunday nights are the worst nights to need emergency help at the hospital.I had to wait 4 months to receive a letter from the hospital to give some insight as to what actually led to her death. The letter was certainly scripted and shift blame for her death on the family.

May her soul rest in peace
