In Gun Fight, Bloomberg Raises Profile but Fails To Win Votes
in response to reader comment: Gunfight at Bloomberg Corral

As a lawful gun owner/hunter I wholeheartedly agree with your stance concerning Bloomberg. The government tells us that the police exist to protect us. That couldn't be further from the truth. The police protect the police. The average beat cop only shows up AFTER a crime has been committed and then maybe he takes a report, then on to the DA where the case is plea bargained to a minor offense and the criminal is allowed to skip down the street to commit more crimes. The police are required to carry a weapon at all times unlike you or me. I bet that if a mugger had to worry about being shot by a citizen for attempting a robbery there would be less crime on the streets. People who use guns to commit crimes should be severely dealt with, with looooooong prison terms, not sent to club Fed to sit around and watch TV or lift weights all day. Inmates should be required to WORK while incarcerated so the state can recoup some of the money it spends housing, feeding, clothing and guarding inmates. nuff' said......
