Torre Seems Terrified of Changing Ways

Mr. Goldman is one hundred percent correct. The manager on this team has been the driving force for 10 years. His personality has shaped the clubhouse and his demeanor has protected the ballplayers from the three-ring press circus in this city. Which is exactly why this years Yankees, hitting or not; pitching or not; are a direct result of the manager and his refusal to incorporate, indoctrinate, or even conceive of new ways to approach the game. The team is not just a "bloop and a blast" team. They have speed and smart base runners. They have specialists in the bullpen and Brian bruney sits there while Kyle Farnsworth cause me irrepairable heart damage. In the past I always said things like," How can the manager be at fault? He can't make the thriows or swing the bat." But that logic only worked because those managers did not command the same respect that Mr. Torre does. And because of that respect he is so dearly given in this city and apparently everywhere else in baseball, he will and must be held exclusively accountable for the Yanks poor showing in the first half of the year.
