Parents' Job II

That all the issues raised here are legitimate does not address the problem. After so many generations of increasingly bad govenment schools it is not reasonable to assume that schoolteachers are not as integral to the problem as anything else.

They were lacking in insight to volunteer, and are lacking the skill to move on. So they stay. And we keep devolving. You are playing pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey on a merry-go-round.

In a total voucher system, as exists in Belgium, for the same public money teachers could make twice as much salary. But then, who would hire the quality of teacher you get for half that price when much better talent was now available? Teachers currently don't like voucher systems, because they don't really like choice either. We're getting what we deserve, but I don't suppose we can say that about children.
