Stevens is much more than a symbol of republican (pick you negative conotation), he is a symbol of Washington (pick your negative conotation). It's all of them. D.C. is a bordello, from the local government all the way to the top.

Words are not adequate enough express my sadness caused by the representatives/bureaucrats who are running our government, of either party or no party. The emotion and disgust is is so strong it only comes out as a snarl of anguish.

I know how to fix it, as do millions of Americans. But the fix is too visceral to even comtemplate.
