I have worked in and around the NY theatre industry for over 15 years and have many stories comparable, but not quite, involving luncheon meat. My mother used to tell stories of attending shows in the 1930's, when families brought full picnic hampers to the theatre.
There will always be people whose concern for others begins and ends at their own noses. And they can be categorized-there are that many-the chatters, the cracklers, and the sing-a-longs (I'm so pleased you have memorized the entire score of this musical- but let's just keep that our little secret, OK?) and those who absolutely must check their PDA's in a darkened theater, sending out a beacon of light for miles around, these I have named "Fireflies."
