Work Begins on Randall's Island Fields as Opponents Cry Foul

Submitted by Clark Pena, Aug 3, 2007 10:29

I was very honored to be part of this ceremonial groundbreaking on our new fields at Randalls Island. As I child born and raised in East Harlem I dreamed of a place park where we as children could have enjoyed new ball fields and fresh green grass. The time is now here. I applaud Mayor Bloomberg, Commissioner Benepe, the Randalls Island Sports Foundation for making sure that this generation enjoy what my generation was left without. It was truly a great day. Now Lets Play Ball!
