Senator Obama did not inject racism into his comment. He simply stated a fact. Why do you believe Africans, Asians, Middle Easterners and Caribbean's are incapable of displaying racist behavior toward their own, or toward others who may look like them, or who might share the common experience of being discriminated against?

Racism is no longer the exclusive territory of white America. There are many groups of people who don't like other groups of people because of their national origin, race, skin color, etc.

With that said, it most definately is confirmation that you are an American black male when you can't hale a cab - regardless of who the driver is. Black men have been stereotyped as all gangsters, murderers and criminals - and whether they're wearing a suit or warm-ups, that stereotype has led to cab drivers fearing for their lives and not wanting to pick up anyone who looks like a black male.
