The point of my third possibility is to make any prospective FSB coverup more difficult. It is to say that even if the promoters of the theory "he was a smuggler" were correct, that does not relieve us of the duty to fully explore the assassination theory. A coverup, if one is occuring is designed to put another theory out there and then to get people to *stop thinking* about FSB involvement. Any theory that includes FSB involvement is useless to them. The FSB has an unwholesome history. It should rightly come back to haunt it.
