Spanning the Globe in Search of a Cure

i find it interesting that people are looking at

3 needles purely as an aids film, when i first started watching

it i didn't even associate it with aids. Although aids is the main theme of the movie,

i feel that Fitzgerald did an incredible job at showing the fear and desperation in humanity. The extreme lengths one can go when one simply does not have enough to survive. i enjoyed that he showed it from the perspective of 3 very different economic and political standpoints- meaning that one does not have to be raised poor in africa to feel hungry.

It is true that many women have walked away from their husbands while they were sleeping, but it is different to walk away in a country where there are shelters and government safety nets in place, as opposed to walking only onto an open road.

both acts are courageous and should be acknowledged as such.

For me Fitzgerald captured the essence and fine line of merely being alive, everyday one must make the choice as to how their actions will affect not only themselves but others around them. It's the choices we make in the moments given or created by us that create our character, to either become a victim, a perpetrator, a conqueror, a leader, a killer, a missionary etc. One does not always have the capability to understand another person's life, but the closer we get to understanding, maybe the closer we will get to hurting each other.

to me 3 needles was about t the choices we make with whatever reality surrounds us.Not only do i think he did it well, but very sensitively.
