Veterans' Rare Cancers Raise Fears of Toxic Battlefields

Submitted by Laura Milczanowksi-Hammons, Aug 9, 2007 01:21

The reason why I have all of you gathered here is to discuss and expose the use of DEPLETED URANIUM. We all know, us Daughters of Vietnam Veterans, that the United States Department of Defense KNOWINGLY poisoned our Father's with Agent Orange (amongst other poisons, not discovered or discussed). Has America not rationalized this? I mean, come on, here my heart is beating a thousand miles a minute and my hearts and our hearts can't take this anymore. We know, more than anyone else does how war affects not only the soldier, but his family that has yet to come. His family who will never heal from the silent wounds that our brave men carry.

Agent Orange. What can I say? It has all been said. Point is the United States will not accept responsibility because it was,"his free will" to join the army? He has to take what he gets. Because he volunteered for it? We see the tragedies of our Veterans hospitals. Walter Reed. Does anyone notice. What can we do? We see the homeless on the streets. We know what it is like to wonder and be terrified of what a man is capable of becoming in a second of an eye. We have seen our Fathers change and abandon us even when they are here, presently on this earth. We experience, first hand the realities of a poisoned toxic man capable of destroying everything around him without a sword in his hand.

Our soldiers and their families are having to deal with, I won't call it PTSD, that's just a label, they are having to deal with a toxicity that is far more than any diagnosis.

Brain injuries. Oh, this heart, I can't take it anymore..."closed" brain injuries due to the IUD's. The wound doesn't show. Brains can actually shake inside skull causing bruising and permanent damage. His illness walks around unnoticed by doctors but realized by his wife and children.

This is hard. Because what this boils down to is...the children. Oh. Sadness. Here comes the sadness. What about these little soldiers children who will grow up and not understand why their Daddies don't love them. Not all, but from my experience, this is true. Why isn't he capable of loving me and anything around him. Why is this.

Depleted Uranium. Who wants to watch their Daddy or Mommy die a horrific death. Why? My brothers! Abraham Hooker and his family. I'm sorry. Dustin Brim and his Momma. I'm so sorry. Makes me what to do something to scream aloud and what can I say. It isn't worth the sacrifice is it? TO have your Dad sick and you don't know and no one can tell you. My love and my voice is all I can give. I know the sadness but yours is more deeper than anyone's imagination. BUT there are people going through this and where are they? (They deny it. You can't hide from the truth. It is right in front of your face open your eyes!)

My sister Fran. Can you grab us a big box of tissues and come over. Your Dad's committed Suicide. I said it, I wrote it down. It doesn't feel good. I want to be here for you. What does one say. Incredibly horrified that our men are treated this way. Where we live in a society that represses the resentment of a war gone badly. A war that took advantage of our Pa's Patriotism and his self-worth. A lie that forced us to get down on our knees and beg for mercy.
