Yes, the object of a team is to win a World Series. The object of management is to put together the best possible team to do that. I think what Goldman is saying is that the Yankees won IN SPITE of having the better player on the bench. It's kinda likeusing Farnesworth in the 8th over anyone else. Just because they win the game, doesn't make it the right decision.
