There are 36 independent states inside what was once the Ottoman boundaries and when Sultan Mehmed II conquered Istanbul some clergymen said, "We 'd rather see the Turkish turban here than the Christian headgear." This is written in historical original documets. (Your comment smacks of utter ignorance and prejudice. You know nothing about either Jesus or Mohammed.) Besides, all of the Ottoman Sultans were known for their great love for the Prophet. So, how could then this be possible that they were able to secure peace in a country of such diverse nature? When I want to learn something about Christianity I hardly look at works written by non-Christians; not because they might've written with a prejudices mindset, but because their love for Christianity can never be as big as that of a Christian. So long as one feeds only his ego and not his soul and heart; one can never be free from doubt and prejudice. So, one understands with the heart not with the mind. The mind is the runway used by the heart. If you want to learn anything about Islam, I can advice the biography of the Prophet by Martin Lings or Karen Armstrong. And it's with this eternal and unforeseen love that I'm talking about that the Prophet Muhammad asked about the Jewish boy who had been playing with other kids on his route home when he was unable to see the boy and whereupon he went to visit him. And when a Jewish funeral procession was passing by he stood up and his companions asked him, "Oh the Messenger of God, why are you standing up for the owner of that coffin who is a Jew?" He replied, "He might be a Jew, but he is a human being created by Allah". Mind you, Jews were his fiercest enemies who tried to kill him on many occasions. This was his behaviour against those who hated him the most. Do you know what I mean? I don't think so; another thing is you get along well with Jews though they don't recognise your Prophet and blasphemously and despicably ascribe the sins of both adultery and fabrication to the Blessed Virgin Mary. How could this be possible. We love and recognise both Jesus and Moses... I'm at a loss to understand... So, there is something else uniting you; I'm sure that it is not a spiritual or religious matter at all...
Also those who committed the Sep.11 attacks were not Muslim although they claimed they were. If they had had even a smattering of religious knowledge on taking innocent lives, they wouldn't have done that.
Joshua, you'd better read and acquire real knowledge on Truth. Don't parrot others.
