Report Criticizes U.N. Resolution On Lebanon War

Submitted by Dave Levy, Aug 14, 2007 14:25

So what else is new? This article just confirms that history repeats itself.

Prior to the Yom kippur War between Israel and her Arab enemies, from Iraq, west through Syria and Egypt, to Algeria, Egyptian soldiers were sunning themselves near the Suez Canal, thus throwing Israeli intelligence off.

The rest is history, with Arik Sharon finally punching a line through the Egyptian defenses, outflanking the 2nd and 3rd Egyptian Armies and allowing Israel fighter bombers to do their job.

When thinks really looked bleak for Sadat, and Israeli forces about to pounce on Cairo and totally destroy the Arab armies, the UN called for a cease fire.

Sound familar?

I wonder, what the UN would have done in both of the above, had Israel been at the point of defeat?

Now that we know that Hezbollah has been re-armed, what next? Will Israel wait to be attacked, or will it ever become proactive, and get out of it's states of denial and wishful thinking?
