....Every time a candidate says something like "I ran into ________ ________ at the gas station today...and she was telling me that [something about her having to sell her children to buy gasoline]..." or perhaps when they say "_________ _________ is in the audience tonight...and he had a farm, and blah blah blah [something about lack of subsidies...no child healthcare...immigration...whatever...]"

...It too...was probably crafted "because the 'truth' needs a 'face' ".

I think there were many of them in the Bush v Gore election, and probably a few in the Bush v. Kerry race.
