A Victory for City Dogs That Prefer To Run Free
in response to reader comment: not a "total victory"

Submitted by JOHNNY MURTHA, Dec 2, 2006 16:10

MR. HOLDEN WAS DEFEATED AGAIN. THAT IS REALLY A SHAME!!! I FEEL MAYBE THEY SHOULD GET A NEW PRESIDENT FOR THE CIVIC ASSOCIATION, ONE WHO WILL FOLLOW THROUGH AND NOT JUST BLOW "HOT AIR". IT'S PROBABLY TRUE THAT MR. HOLDEN DOESN'T GET PAID FOR HIS EFFORTS BUT HE SURE GETS A LOT OF PUBLICITY. I GUESS THAT IS ENOUGH FOR HIM.

I AM REALLY GLAD THAT THE LEASH LAW DIDN'T GO THROUGH. LET'S HEAR IT FOR ALL THE "DOG OWNERS" AND THE FURRY LITTLE GUYS , THEY DESERVE SOME PLAY TIME IN OUR PARKS AS WELL. AS BEING A DOG OWNER MYSELF, I AM AWARE THAT ALL THE OWNERS I HAVE OBSERVED ALWAYS PICKED UP AFTER THEIR CANINES AND THAT THEIR DOGS WERE WELL BEHAVED AND ONLY LOOKING TO SOCIALIZE AND MAKE FRIENDS WITH OTHER DOGS. MAYBE ONCE IN AWHILE YOU WILL FIND A DOG THAT ISN'T FRIENDLY BUT THAT IS ON A RARE OCCASION.

AS FAR ASTHE DOG THAT WAS ATTACKED IN JUNIPER VALLEY PARK, YOU CAN'T USE THAT AS AN EXAMPLE BECAUSE BOTH PARTIES WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE PARK AT 11:00 PM, REGARDLESS SO MR. HOLDEN HAD NO BUSINESS USING THAT AS EXAMPLE.

I WISH ALL THE DOGS TO HAVE A FUN DAY FOR THEIR VICTORY IN THE PARKS WITH THEIR OWNERS.

BEST REGARDS

A CONCERNED MIDDLE VILLAGE RESIDENT
