An Elvis Breakthrough

Elvis was unique. He had it all - the voice, charisma, looks and stage act.

Historically there is no more important person in the field of music. He broke down racial and cultural barriers that existed in 1950's America which made it easier for all artists who followed him. Elvis was the template, he did not have a reference point to put him on the right track but had to rely on gut instinct.

He could sing in any musical genre and did so with great success. This fact alone made him unique among all other artists or groups, and is why he is the only artist who is a member of three Halls of Fame i.e. Rock 'n Roll; Country and Gospel.

Today, he is still topping charts around the world and his influence is even stronger than it was when he was alive.

We will never see another like him. His legacy will ensure that he is remembered in a thousand years time.

R.I.P. Elvis
