There is certainly a lot of worthwhile activities by Iranian exiles in a wide range of fields, which needs to be promoted more and more for the Iranians living inside Iran. The NY Iranian New Year parade is a particular source of pride for all those Iranians who cherish their cultural heritage, in particular the way the organisers have resisted any interference attempts by the Islamic Republic. The waving of the Sun and Lion flags - instead of the Islamic Republic flags - throughout this parade is a testimony to the integrity of the organisers. The parade has been attracting more than 15000 Iranians living in NY.
There are also a number of Iranian individuals whose achievements make them ideal role models for Iranians. Ex-pat Iranian women like Anoushe Ansari, Nazanin Afshin-Jam, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Mary Apic,... can show Iranian women of how much they could achieve if they lived without the yoke of the clerical regime in Iran and how their potentials could be realised.
