Now Comes the Lawsuit
in response to reader comment: This Is Why People Dislike Lawyers

I agree with the other comments about how these people took advantage of this seemingly hard-working man who did a wonderful, selfless thing. What I DON'T like, is that when confronted with what happened to him, he said that he was an "uneducated" "black" man being taken advantage of by "educated" "white" people trying to "screw" him. I'm not reading directly from the article but he DOES say "uneducated" or "lesser educated" "BLACK" man being taken advantage of by "white" people. Not ONLY does that "degrade" the black population as he make that sound like a "given" state of affairs for the black population...BUT, he manages to make it a "race" issue as if they are doing it TO him BECAUSE he is black. Haven't we heard ENOUGH of that in this country? Don't we see scum of ALL kinds white, black, hispanic, cubano, asian, etc., take advantage of their OWN kind ENOUGH and don't we see ENOUGH separation and racial HATE to make it MORE of an issue? It seems like he's using JUST to get his way in a lawsuit. The man was smart enough to figure out that he and another man could "fit" in the cracks of the subway...you would "think" he could be smart enough to NOT sign a contract WITHOUT reading it FIRST!!!!!!!

So while he has done something very heroic, I believe, I am saddened by the fact that he brings up race to make a point about what is happening to him. Yes...maybe THESE people who are taking advantage of him ARE white. ALTHOUGH the last name of one of them sounds "hispanic" of which they may or may not be...is he just 'lumping" people altogether now if they are not "black"? Maybe I'm being too hard on the man I mean even though people do heroic things and don't deserve to be taken advantage of....it does not make them perfect or even of higher moral character. BUT I WAS saddened to see him bring this into play.

On the whole...it DOES sound like the SPECIFIC individuals he is dealing with ARE trying to rip him off...whatever their "COLOR" may be.
