The African Groove

This review tells a true story and Mcoy Tyner's growth as a pianist and a genuinely spiritual artist led him to the same outcome that drummers Max Roach, Art Blakey, saxophonists Sonny Rollins, Coltrane et al, and bassists like Mingus, Ray Brown, Ron Carter etc ended up accepting...which is that once you mine the core of the music the African sensibilty rises to the top.
