Biden Chides Competitors on Foreign Policy Experience

Submitted by John, Aug 18, 2007 16:41

Joe Biden speaks in the natural cadences of a man who knows himself and what he realistically can achieve for the country. Some might suggest he give a little more thought to consequences before an off-the-cuff remark, but he has the kind of sincerity for which many highly paid political handlers would trade their mothers to see in their candidates. If the country had an appetite for a leader who could safeguard its interests and promote some comity in coming years, then Joe would be great. Instead, as we know, it usually boils down to questions of political viability or electability--a game of perception in which positioning and marketing trump experience and qualifications. The results are always noisy and too often disappointing. One day let's hope the Joe Bidens can get elected to the nation's top office. That would be the true future of promise of which we've heard so much already in this political season.
